Simple Anti-aging Hacks

Aging is a natural part of life. By definition it “is the gradual deterioration of functional characteristics.” However, we all will age but each person’s aging process will look different.

That said, if you’re motivated to live a full and healthy life as you age, then you might have to make some adjustments to your personal aging process, so you can spend more quality time doing the things you love.

Here are Dr. Heintze’s top simple anti-aging hacks to spark wellness and look and feel younger!

Anti-aging hacks

Try these Simple Anti-aging Hacks

1. Eat more whole foods

Yes, you can eat whole foods and get your food at Whole Foods! But do note that many regular grocery stores now carry lots of healthy foods and alternative foods (in addition to local natural markets).

What does this mean?

Stick to an anti-inflammatory diet such as the Paleo diet has been shown in numerous studies to be good for brain health and inflammation. Incorporate more root veggies, grass-fed meats, berries, avocados, ginger, pomegranate, dark green leafy veggies, garlic and Omega 3 fatty acid-rich foods like cold water fatty fish, walnuts and hemp seeds. Our favorite cookbook is the: Autoimmune Paleo Cookbook or if you need more help, check out my online signature course: The Anti-inflammatory Kickstart Plan

2. Move your body and sweat

Did you know? Regular exercise has quite a potent anti-aging effect – and best of all, to help slow down the aging process, it doesn’t matter how much you exercise or what type you choose – just so long as you move your body regularly!

On the other hand, a sedentary lifestyle speeds up the aging process and makes you more susceptible to age-related health issues down the road.

Sweat with exercise and sweat with sauna. Using the dry sauna or infared sauna 3-4x week for      15-20 minutes can do wonders for your health! Read more about benefits of sauna therapy here.

3. Get those Zzzzs.

Lack of sleep can really take a toll on your entire body. We’re not just talking dark circles either – although those are still a good reason to catch enough zzz’s! Shut the laptop (and other devices) and get into bed, preferably by 10pm every night. Read more about how we can help curb insomnia here.

4. Manage your stress.

Too much stress can have significant negative effects on your body, and grossly accelerate the aging process. Be sure to find more ways to manage your stress on a daily basis so it doesn’t take over!

5. Get acupuncture!

Acupuncture can help your body produce more collagen and elastin which help to promote younger and more youthful skin! In addition to stimulating collagen production, acupuncture can also modulate cortisol response and help to reduce stress. This natural anti-inflammatory response from acupuncture is amazing!

The art of preventative medicine.

Obviously there’s nothing that completely halts the biological aging process, but these simple anti-aging hacks may help you slow it down – even if it’s just a little bit.

More importantly, they may help you look and feel better RIGHT NOW, while promoting a an overall healthier, and more energetic lifestyle!
