Suffer from endometriosis? We can help

Natural and Effective Treatments for Endometriosis and Chronic Pelvic Pain

It is estimated that 25-38% of women who report chronic pelvic pain have endometriosis. Endometriosis is a painful disorder where tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus (the endometrium) grows outside the uterus. This tissue can grow on ovaries, fallopian tubes, along pelvis, and even around intestines and bladder.

Common symptoms

People with endometriosis often suffer from painful periods, abdominal pain, heavy menses, pain with bowel movements, and infertility. Often and, unfortunately, patients can be misdiagnosed and placed on medications that may make symptoms worse and not get at the root cause. The gold standard to diagnosis endometriosis is still exploratory laparoscopic surgery, which can be helpful in diagnosis endometriosis but patients also report pain from the surgery as well as scars from the surgery.

What do the studies say?

There is limited research on acupuncture and endometriosis, specifically, but there have been some new studies coming to light.

In a 2019, randomized-control study, women with diagnosed endometriosis related chronic pelvic pain were studied. The study found participants in the active group, receiving acupuncture experienced an average 4.8 point reduction in pain on a 11-point pain scale (62% reduction), compared to the control group not receiving acupuncture. The control group reported a 1.4 point reduction. In addition, the reduction in pain in the active group that received acupuncture lasted for 6-months or longer, based on the studies 6-month re-assessment.
