{Gluten-free Recipe} Honey Lime Sweet Potatoes

Honey Lime Sweet Potatoes:: Gluten-free and Vegan

Sweet potatoes are not just for Thanksgiving. They are loaded with key vitamins and nutrients and are easy to digest. In Chinese medicine, they are really beneficial for our spleen which controls digestion. Combining sweet potatoes with pecans and cilantro give it an added kick. I had this side dish with pork ribs and it really complemented the zest of the BBQ sauce. This dish could also stand alone as a meal, just add come cooked and shredded chicken on top!

Gluten-free honey lime sweet potatoes

Gather organic sweet potatoes, lime, pecans, cilantro, cranberries, and raw honey and you are good to go!


2 large sweet potatoes

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/2 cup dried cranberries

3 Tablespoons raw honey

Juice of 1/2 a lime

Lime zest

2-3 Tablespoons chopped cilantro


  1. Boil pot of water on stove with steamer.
  2. Cut sweet potatoes into 3/4 inch cubes and steam for 10 minutes until tender but not too soft.
  3. Let potatoes cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Mix in rest of ingredients, except cilantro.
  5. Refrigerate until cool.
  6. Take out and sprinkle cilantro on just before serving.



Sprinkle on cilantro and enjoy!
